Give the Gift of Your Time
Volunteering with Susan G. Komen® Inland Empire is a rewarding way to give your time and talents to support our bold goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50% by 2026.
We offer year-round volunteer opportunities all over Riverside and San Bernardino Counties from assisting with outreach, education, office-based projects to special events such as the Race for the Cure®. Without the efforts of our amazing volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish even a fraction of what we do today.
Whether you’re a survivor, a co-survivor or just someone who cares, we’d be grateful for whatever time you have to offer.
Process to become a volunteer:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Schedule and attend an individual or group interview session.
- Schedule and attend a volunteer orientation
- Pass a background check (pending volunteer opportunities)
- Attend specific program training
Our volunteers come in all sizes, shapes and colors, but their hearts are pink and their caring has no limit. Are you a leader, a thinker or a doer? Use your talents in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever! We need you now more than ever. Volunteers provide countless hours contributing their skills to further the Susan G. Komen® promise. We will work with your availability. Every minute you spend helping gives another minute of hope to those affected by breast cancer. On-going program areas include:

Community Outreach Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to assist with Komen Inland Empire community outreach and breast health education activities throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Activities include breast cancer awareness events, community health fairs, and Race for the Cure promotional activities.
Office Assistance Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to assist in the Komen Inland Empire office. Duties include database maintenance, updating contact lists, making calls, helping with bulk mailers and providing pre-event support including gift bag stuffing, preparing silent auction display materials and supply inventory. Volunteers may commit to one or more shifts per week consistently on an on-going basis or can be on stand-by for when assistance is needed for specific office based projects.
Throughout the year we accept applications from individuals interested in joining one of our Susan G. Komen Inland Empire committees which include the More Than Pink Walk Steering Committee, Survivor Committee, Grants Committee, Dine Out for the Cure Committee, and Paws for the Cure Committee. Board members are also recruited on an on-going basis. There are different recruitment and induction processes in place for the various committees. In all cases applicants are interviewed to assess whether they possess the skills, experience and knowledge required for the volunteer committee position they are applying for.
